A few days ago I posted a really cool multi-touch demo—here’s another one, just great:
A lot to learn dear inhouse touchscreen and kiosk system providers ;)

this would be so cool for world of warcraft…lol.

while this is a really nice flashy demo, i am still waiting for real applications and real work happening with something like this. in other words, while they work really fast and show of some impressive stuff, all they do is show off their technology and their interaction design idea (which i am really impressed with). when you watch closely, however, you can find quite stupid things in there too that are disguised by the cool technology.
so, what i would like to see is real applications, where people do real work with something like this.
ps: please do not autostart the movie.

@Peter: I think the technology is to some extend getting real in Apples iPhone e.g. the two finger Image zoom.
The next step would be wall-sized displays and gesture recognition (like the vision in The Minority Report). But the true challenge is to find intuitive movements for commands – the two i can see in the video are the image zoom and the change of the perspective of the google map.
ps: autostart is now off: as long as a video is the latest entry of our blog we love to force our readers to watch it ;)

As a programmmer, I’m wondering how this technology could improve our work. I can imagine to use multi-touch for using software. But I can’t imagine how to use it as a programmer. How do you think?
by toms on 18 Feb 21:04
@dieter: let’s put it this way: how can this technologies create new programming languages or techniques to draft ideas, concepts and interactions – maybe this is a first step towards merging the design and coding process.

@sascha: sorry, i don’t know the track/artist’s name

its funny how people think of useable navigations. Imagine you work 8h with such an application..well phyisotherapist will have lot to do…

@artd2: I would trade postural deformity for muscle ache.
